Round the World 2004

These pictures were taken on a round the world trip in 2004. The main places visited were New Zealand, Sydney and Hawaii, with stopovers in Hong Kong and Los Angeles on the way around.

Some of the highlights of the trip were seeing Hong Kong lit up for Christmas - the mixture of traditional decorations in and around the ultra modern high rise buildings was very cool, cruising overnight on the Doubtful Sound on New Zealand's South Island with wild dolphins playing around the boat, whale watching in Kaikoura and watching the New Years Eve fireworks in Sydney.

A few days at Waikiki for a bit of rest and relaxation (not forgetting some time for shopping) was just what was needed at the end of the trip, and even torrential rain on the stopover in Los Angeles couldn't spoil a visit to Hollywoods Walk of Fame and the Mann's Chines Theatre.
